“You can be both a masterpiece and a work in progress”
This weekend I stood in two states at one time and it got me thinking about this HUGE lesson I had to learn over the past 5 years
When trauma and grief and difficult emotions of the like show up in our awareness, it can often feel like we need to choose which feelings we want to feel. Either this, OR that. Never both.
𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧'𝐭 𝐩𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐭𝐲 𝐜𝐮𝐩.
Physically, no liquids will flow from a cup that's empty.
The same goes with energy, presence and intention.
People often mention, “Just go with the flow.” but what the heck does that even mean?
The intersection of discipline and surrender is flow.
That means that honoring your commitments, habits and rituals and focusing on what what you can control is one side of the work. The other side is handing over what is out of your control or your sphere of influence.
When you allow and surrender to the unfolding of your life, you’ll deeply feel that where you are is not who you are.
These, instead, are simply circumstances. Conditions. Situations.
And like your emotions, while it might not seem it, they are fluid.
If you can't develop consistency, your momentum is also going to difficult to create.
I've not much been a fan of consistency. I'm a Leo Sun, Pisces Rising, with a moon in Sagittarius - Simply put I don't like doing the same things over and over again. I am bold but I get restless and struggle to beat back my impatience and indecisiveness.
